Welcome to Beauty Time – Eyelash Extensions

FAQs – Frequently Asked Questions | Things That You Should Know

We get asked many questions by first-time visitors. So we came up with a list of frequently asked questions and eyelash extension faqs. Lash extensions are an advanced technique that enhances the curliness, fullness, and thickness of the natural eyelashes. The lash extensions will be bonded to a single natural lash to create a beautiful look. There are many different types of eyelash extensions styles like the classic set, volume set, cat eye lash style  and hybrid lash set

For our classic eyelash extensions, we will apply a single eyelash extension to a single natural lash and extend the length of the natural eyelash. It gives a very classic natural look, almost like you’ve applied mascara – but without all the hassle!

Volume eyelash extensions are a method of applying multiple thin, light and fanned out eyelash extensions to a single natural eyelash which will give your eyelashes more volume. Depending on your preferences, we can also extend the length of your natural lashes by applying longer eyelash extensions.

At Beauty Time, our volume count is based on how many extensions we use on a single natural eyelash. The differences are that for the 3D set, you will get 3-4 thin and soft eyelash extensions applied on a single natural lash. For the 4D set, you will get the same material, but instead of 3-4 extensions per lash, you will receive 4-5 soft eyelash extensions applied on a single natural lash which creates more volume than 3D.

For the Russian Volume set, it’s the same excellent material used for 3D and 4D, but instead of 3-4 or 5-6, it will be 6-10 eyelash extensions on one natural lash which creates a more dramatic look.

Due to the number of extensions that we apply in the Russian Volume set, we will examine your lashes to determine if your natural lashes are in excellent condition. If your lashes are not in the best state, we will not proceed to avoid damaging your natural lash. The health of your lashes is our number one priority!

Our eyelash extensions are a high-quality faux Mink –  a soft plastic used to replicate Mink hairs.

The reason why we don’t use Mink for our eyelash extensions service is that a lot of people have an allergic reaction to real Mink and animal furs. Since these extensions are near to our client’s eyes, we would like to eliminate most, if not all possibilities of an allergic reaction for our clients.

Before your eyelash extensions appointment is to take place, try to reach the studio without wearing any kind of makeup on the eyes. Don’t curl your eyelashes or put on mascara the day preceding the day of the appointment. It will help to reduce the time taken for clean up and give us more time for the actual eyelash extensions process. For more information on eyelash appointment pre-care read click here for our blog

This question is another of our most frequently asked questions. While keeping the development cycle of eyelashes in mind during the application process, our stylists are trained to search for fully grown eyelashes which they can connect with the synthetic ones. The smaller lashes are left to develop on their own.

At the next refill, we will have a new lash on which to apply your extensions.

Eyelash Extensions won’t make your natural eyelashes fall out. Keep in mind that your natural eyelashes have a life cycle of growing and shedding like the hair found on the rest of your body. It’s difficult to see little eyelashes falling out. However, when connected to a thicker, longer lash they are considerably more perceptible.

This is one of our most frequently asked questions. Eyelash extensions are applied while you rest on a comfortable spa bed with minimal hassle. Generally, it takes about 1.5 hours for a full installation of eyelashes. But can vary depending upon the volume of your natural eyelash.

Before installing the lashes, your base lashes are secured with a gel eye cushion. Lash augmentations are connected 1-to-1 or many to one lash with medical grade adhesive.  It is an extremely comfortable, non-intrusive treatment and the majority of our customers relax, take a break or fall asleep.

The eyelash extensions are going to last you anywhere between 2 to 4 weeks with proper care.

Some factors affect the longevity of the lash extensions. Such as the amount of humidity in your area, steaming, rubbing, sleeping on one side. Resting on your face, touching them too much or using oil-based makeup remover pads also affect the lifetime of your eyelash extensions

To maintain a full look for an extended period; you should get the refills done after every 2-3 weeks.

We recommend that you come in for refills every 2-3 weeks. The refill process can take anywhere between an hour to 75 minutes.

If you take a longer gap in between refills, there is a significant risk to your eyelash extensions. They may fall out entirely and you will need a new set.

Therefore, it’s essential that you schedule an appointment with us earlier. Many factors will affect the longevity of the eyelash extensions. Such as the amount of humidity in your area, steaming, rubbing, sleeping on one side. Also resting on your face, using oil-based products, or make-up removal pads will affect your eyelash extensions.

The bonding agent used is waterproof, so you don’t need to worry about it falling off while you swim or shower.

However, we recommend you allow at least 48 hours for the adhesive to set. Do not wash your eyes for at least 48 hours after application of your eyelash extensions to prolong their life cycle.

After that, you are free to indulge in all water-based activities. For more lash extensions Faqs visit our blog

Lash lifts or eyelash lifts are a perm for your natural lashes. Eyelash lifting curls your natural lashes from the base to the tip. It’s recommended that your natural lashes be a minimum of 3mm to get the maximum effect from lash lifting. The process of Lash lifting takes an hour and half to one hour and 45 minutes. Lash lifts can last up to one month.

Lash tinting is the process of applying a semi permanent color or dye to darken your natural lashes. Lash tinting can last up to 1 month.  It’s recommended that you get your lashes tinted at the same time as a lash lift for maximum effect.

It’s very IMPORTANT  that you let your wax technician know if you have used  products like Retinol Proactive , Alpha Hydroxy or Glycolic Acid as part of your beauty routine.  These products make your skin thinner which may cause tearing when waxed. Please see our blog post here on waxing do’s and donts.
