Lashes mapped to your eyes — natural to dramatic

Our certified lash artists custom-map every set to your eye shape using premium, lightweight faux-mink lashes — applied one extension per mature natural lash so your own lashes keep growing healthily underneath. Wake up ready, skip the mascara, and book a fill every 2–3 weeks to keep your set full.

How eyelash extensions actually work

An eyelash extension is a single, lightweight faux-mink fibre bonded to one of your own mature natural lashes — never to the skin, and never lash-to-lash. Your artist isolates that one natural lash, places the extension a fraction of a millimetre from the base, and repeats it a few hundred times. That isolation is the whole craft: it is what lets each natural lash keep growing and shedding on its own cycle underneath.

Because every set is mapped to your eye shape first, two people can book the same service and walk out looking completely different — one opened up and doe-eyed, one lifted and elongated at the outer corner. We map before we place a single lash.

Classic, hybrid or volume — which set is yours?

  • Classic — one extension per natural lash. Definition without density: your lashes, with the mascara already done. The most natural finish we offer.
  • Hybrid — a mix of classic singles and volume fans. Adds texture and a slightly fluffy, wispy edge while still reading natural. A good first step if classic feels too subtle.
  • Russian volume (2D–10D) — several ultra-fine extensions fanned onto each natural lash. The “D” is simply how many fibres are in the fan: 2D is two, 10D is ten. More fans means more density and a darker lash line.

Heavier is not better. The right weight is the one your natural lash can carry comfortably, which is why we assess your lashes before recommending a set rather than selling the biggest number.

What your first appointment looks like

Come with clean lashes — no eye makeup, no mascara, and no oily skincare around the eyes. Wear your glasses rather than contacts, and skip the coffee if you can; caffeine tends to make the eyes flutter, which makes fine work harder.

A full set takes about 1.5–2 hours, longer for a dense volume set. You lie back with your eyes closed the whole time. It should never pinch, pull or sting — most clients fall asleep. If anything feels sharp, say so; that is always fixable in the moment.

Making them last

Keep them dry for the first 24–48 hours while the adhesive fully cures. After that, water is genuinely fine — shower, sweat, cry at the movies. It is oil and friction that break the bond, not water.

  • Cleanse daily with a lash-safe foam — clean lashes retain better than untouched ones
  • Skip oil-based cleanser, makeup remover and waterproof mascara
  • Brush them through with a clean spoolie each morning
  • Do not pick, pull or rub — this is what actually damages natural lashes
  • If you sleep on your side, lie near the pillow edge so your lashes hang free
  • Book a fill every 2–3 weeks; your natural lashes shed on their own cycle and take the extension with them

Good to know

Frequently Asked Questions

How long do eyelash extensions last?

A set lasts roughly 4–6 weeks in total, but because your natural lashes shed and regrow continuously, we recommend a refill every 2–3 weeks to keep the set looking full.

Do eyelash extensions damage your natural lashes?

Applied correctly, they shouldn’t. We match the length and weight to each individual natural lash so it can carry the extension comfortably. Damage comes from extensions that are too heavy, poorly isolated, or picked and pulled at — not from extensions themselves.

Does it hurt?

No. A proper application is completely painless — you lie back with your eyes closed and most clients fall asleep. You should never feel pulling, pinching or stinging.

What’s the difference between classic, hybrid and volume?

Classic is one extension per natural lash for a natural, mascara-look finish. Volume (2D–10D Russian) fans several ultra-fine extensions onto each lash for a fuller, fluffier look. Hybrid blends the two for texture in between.

What do 2D, 3D, 4D and 10D mean?

The “D” is how many ultra-fine extensions are fanned onto each natural lash — 2D is two, 10D is ten. More fans means more volume and density. We offer Classic, 2D/3D, 4D, 5D–6D and 10D Russian volume.

How much do eyelash extensions cost in Ottawa?

At Beauty Time: Classic $65 refill / $95 new set; 2D/3D Russian $75 / $105; 4D $85 / $115; 5D–6D $95 / $125; 10D $125 / $155. Prices are subject to change.

Can I get my lashes wet or shower with extensions?

Avoid water, steam and heavy sweat for the first 24–48 hours while the adhesive cures. After that you can shower and cleanse normally — gentle cleansing actually keeps them healthier and lasting longer.

Can I wear mascara with lash extensions?

We don’t recommend it. Mascara — especially waterproof — breaks down the adhesive and clumps the extensions. The whole point is that you can skip it entirely.

How do I make my lash extensions last longer?

Keep them dry for the first 48 hours, then cleanse gently with a lash-safe foam. Avoid oil-based products and waterproof mascara, don’t rub or pick, brush them daily with a clean spoolie, and book a refill every 2–3 weeks.

Can I sleep on my side with eyelash extensions?

Yes — but sleeping face-down or pressing your lashes into the pillow can twist, bend or shed them early. If you’re a side sleeper, position your face near the edge of the pillow so your lashes hang slightly off it.

Can I get extensions if I have sensitive eyes?

Yes. Many clients with sensitive eyes wear extensions comfortably. We use professional-grade adhesives and can talk through suitable options. If you have a history of allergies or sensitivities, we may recommend a patch test first.

How long is the appointment?

A full set is about 1.5–2 hours, longer for a dense volume set. A refill runs roughly 60–90 minutes depending on the volume.

What lashes do you use — are they real mink?

High-quality faux-mink — never real mink. They’re soft, lightweight and cruelty-free.
